The green light has been given for the new Mega Ikos Kassandra in Halkidiki, as this major tourism investment moves into its final phase ahead of construction.
Recently, preliminary approval was granted for the revision of the building permits, covering the functional integration, upgrading, modernization, and renovation of three existing hotels in Halkidiki, which will collectively become the new Ikos Kassandra.
The project is being undertaken by METKA, and as stated by the company’s Vice President and CEO, Dinos Benroubi, construction is expected to begin in 2025, with completion scheduled before the summer of 2029. Upon completion, the resort will offer a total of 750 rooms featuring modern design and premium amenities.
The final step remaining is the formal approval of the revised building permits for the three hotels, allowing for their seamless integration.
In April 2025, the Sani/Ikos Group announced the acquisition of Athos Palace, Pallini Beach, and Theophano Imperial hotels in Kassandra, Halkidiki. The Group will proceed with a full redevelopment of the three properties to create Ikos Kassandra, the first Ikos Grand Resort, setting new standards for luxury all-inclusive hospitality.
The investment is projected to exceed €400 million, with a planned opening in April 2029. Upon opening, Ikos Kassandra will be the largest Ikos Resort to date, offering unparalleled facilities and services that further enhance the brand’s internationally recognized all-inclusive experience.
Located in Kallithea, Kassandra, just one hour from Thessaloniki International Airport, the resort stretches along a 600-meter beachfront with panoramic views of Sithonia, the Toroneos Gulf, and the island of Kelyfos.
Spanning 160 acres, the luxury resort will feature 750 rooms, suites, and villas, blending contemporary architecture with the natural beauty of the region. Guests will enjoy lush gardens, shared and private pools, a spa, sports facilities, and dedicated areas for families and adults.
The central beachfront promenade and Ikos Kassandra will host over 30 restaurants and bars, offering options from casual dining to Michelin-starred culinary experiences, as well as theaters, spas, kids and teen clubs, sports academies, and experiential activities for all ages.
During construction, the resort will employ 1,000 workers, and upon opening, it will provide 1,300 direct jobs. In line with the Group’s long-standing strategy, partnerships with local producers and suppliers will further support the regional economy and employment.
