Property Prices 2019-2020

In the first quarter of 2020 apartment prices increased by 6.6% compared to the first quarter of 2019, while in the second quarter of 2020 apartment prices increased by 4.1%. For the whole of 2019, the annual price increase reached 7.2%.

Price indices according to year of manufacture

For the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019 we have:
– For apartments up to 5 years, price increase by 5.4%
– For apartments over 5 years, an increase of 3.2%

For the second quarter of 2020 compared to the second quarter of 2019 we have:
– For apartments up to 5 years, price increase by 7.7%
– For apartments over 5 years, increase 6.0%

For the whole of 2019:
– For apartments up to 5 years, price increase by 7.7%
– For apartments over 5 years, increase of 6.9%

Price indices by location

For the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019 we have:
Athens 10.5%
Thessaloniki 5.3%
Other major cities 2,2%
Rest of Greece 4,0%

For the second quarter of 2020 compared to the second quarter of 2019 we have:
Athena 6.8%
Thessaloniki 4.2%
Other major cities 0,8%
Rest of Greece 2,0%

For the whole of 2019:
Athena 10.5%
Thessaloniki 6.9%
Other major cities 3.8%
Rest of Greece 4.5%

In urban areas, for the first quarter apartment prices increased by 7.0%, in the second quarter by 4.8%. The annual increase for the whole of 2019 was 7.4%.
