Greece: Tourism Leader of 2024! – Leisure Lifestyle Awards

At the Leisure Lifestyle Awards 2024 ceremony, Greece once again affirmed its status as a leading tourist destination, receiving top honors in several categories. For the third consecutive year, the country was named the winner in the “Best Historical Attractions, International” category, highlighting Greece’s unique cultural heritage that attracts tourists from around the world.

The island of Santorini, renowned for its picturesque views and unique architecture, secured the top spot in the “Best Island in Europe” category for the eleventh consecutive year. This result attests to the island’s enduring popularity among travelers who appreciate its beauty, atmosphere, and comfort.

Another Greek island, Mykonos, also received attention. It ranked third in two prestigious categories: “Best Island in Europe” and “Best Beaches, International.” Mykonos is known for its luxurious beaches and vibrant nightlife, making it appealing to both those seeking a peaceful retreat and those who enjoy active entertainment.

The Leisure Lifestyle Awards, organized by the travel magazine Global Traveler, have been held for the 12th time. This year, the voting took place from July 15, 2023, to March 8, 2024, and thousands of the magazine’s readers and its digital edition participated. Tourists expressed their preferences for both American (domestic) and international destinations, as well as rated the quality of services in the hospitality sector, including service, dining, and excursion programs.

These awards confirm Greece’s unwavering leadership on the international tourism stage and recognize its contributions to preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage.
