Athens (/ˈæθɨnz/;[2] Modern Greek: Αθήνα, Athína, [aˈθina], Ancient Greek: Ἀθῆναι, Athēnai)
The capital of Greece and Attica Prefecture. The city covers an area of 39 km², and consists of a population of over 665 thousand inhabitants.
